Valcore

by Nookie   Dec 22, 2004

I live this way
Night, not day
Feast on living
Toy with the dead

I come out at night
To bring people fright
Where I go the dead rise
No mortal hears my cries

They call me Death or Reaper
But all I am is a Necromancer
I only use my sword or a bell
To rise or vanquish demons of Hell

I make life and death entwine
Crossing over the mortal line
I bend physics to meet my will
Give another chance, or kill

I have nobody in which to confide
I live in shadows, live or hide?
Both Necromancer and Vampire
This thought was only conspire

They say I'm wrong, quoting their laws
Pointing at my strengths, as if flaws
I go against everything they believe
Their society I, of course, must leave

Even though I will live infinite years
The longer I live, the more the tears
I am no longer flesh and bone
I'm a god of men, but still alone

Tonight is the night for my final sorrow
If all goes well, I won't see tomorrow
They will preach my name from shore to shore
Strongest of the immortals, The God Valcore

I wrote this one from many things, I'm reading a book about Necromancers (magic users dealing with the dead), just got done watching a show about vampires, and just thought my friend would appreciate me using one of his many names in a poem. deep in there i think was an analogy to my own life...minus the whole fantasy part. hope you enjoyed it..

I don't understand why your poems are all rated so low...I think all that I've read up to this point is brilliant, and I'm sure the ones I'm going to read will be equally as good...You're an amazing poet, Nookie, and this poem is definetly one of your best (that I have read so far), reminds me of one of my favorite books. <3 Amazing work xxxxxx

Waaahhh! I really like this poem! It's brilliant! There's a lot of darkness in there along with the strength of this God. It's really quite beautiful.

I really liked this. Dark imagery and dramatic text that added an additional effect to the piece. I especially like the second to last stance with the tragedy and burden of an eternity of tears added with the comparison to a god over men. I also really admored the last stance,

    Beautiful words, well done
