Lies, to the truth

If i look back
i can remember
where we went
at the end of november

when you left
i was stranded for days
you coming back
is what i prayed

then the day came
it actually did
you came back
not telling a fib

i was shocked
all day long
then i realized
that i was wrong

i thought you lied
you told the truth
i thought you'd stay
but now i have proof

now i believe
what people say
and i will not judge
each and every day

you did come back
as i can see,
i was stranded for years
how many? three

so now i compare
my lies to yours
