Why did you change

At first i didn't really care
i barley noticed the change
I'd say hi if you were there
but it was still strange

i didn't really mind at first
but then it got to me
that this is probably the worst
way it could be

i didn't want to break your heart
but i couldn't get to deep
i wanted it done before it could start
but it was all way too cheap

i just decided to just give it a try
and see how things worked out
and i really don't know why
but something changed about

you had turned into somebody new
who i didn't yet know
it still was the same old you
with something that didn't show

but was it you outside
are you really here?
or maybe did you just hide
i don't know where to steer

i thought i liked this new guy
but i really really don't
i thought I'd give it a try
but i think i wont

because if you cant be you
even just around me
then all I'll say is this:
it wasn't meant to be

but if you went back in time
and gave yourself another try
that would be totally fine
and I'd love you as my guy
