Being Me

I am me,
This is who,
I’ll always be,
I won’t change.

I don’t care,
If I have,
Perfect hair,
Or the “right” clothes.

While others chase,
Around a ball,
I dance with grace,
Practicing technique.

I love to sing,
Because I love listening,
To my notes ring,
Out strong and beautiful.

I love to write,
And when inspired,
I will wake in the night,
To write my poetry.

And I know,
It’s annoying when,
Over a cute T.V. show,
I swoon.

Just remember...

I’m not the same,
I don’t plan to be,
I have no shame,
In being me.
