Definiton of Infinity

by Lipton   Dec 28, 2004

How can God exist? It's just not right,
At least, that's what you've said, every night.
No logic exists, to prove this faith,
There's nothing to observe, to see its base.
That's why it's faith, and not scientific theory,
Just accept that fact, that's all you're getting.

It's like pulling out a ruler, to measure the infinite.
Holding out a glass, to capture the limitless.
Pull out your calculator, to observe irrationalities.
Litmus test your Creator and see,
There's a difference, between you and me.
So stop shaking your fist in cruel defiance,
The supernaturals, are not subject to science.

Pull out your flask, and a pipette as well,
But how will that help, in defining Hell?
How can a thermometer, and Bunsen Burner,
Measure the terrors, of Hell's fire?
And how can a microscope, and a brand new slide,
Show you the Hope, that God's filled inside?

It's like pulling out a ruler, to measure the infinite.
Holding out a glass, to capture the limitless.
Pull out your calculator, to observe irrationalities.
Litmus test your Creator and see,
There's a difference, between you and me.
So stop shaking your fist in cruel defiance,
The supernaturals, are not subject to science.

This is the way it is, with every Christian,
Constantly impeded, with, "Your faith is but fiction!"
But you prove it wrong. Prove the irrational with rationalities,
Then I will listen, to all of your theories.

There is no victory in a battle like this.
Science versus Faith, will always end in fits.
So really time's just wasting, as we sit here and fight,
Let's just wait, and let death, put us in it's light.
So keep your theories, toward us at bay,
For you can't change my mind... There's just no way.

Well that was really impressive, Lipton. Very well written and expressed. The comparisons you used here were very apt and quite creative.

That was amazing. I particularily liked this part of the second stanza:
"How can a thermometer, and Bunsen Burner,
Measure the terrors, of Hell's fire?
And how can a microscope, and a brand new slide,
Show you the Hope, that God's filled inside?"
    Beautifully spoken.
