Mom

by Dani Ward   Dec 28, 2004

You have always been there,
since the beginning of my life,
you have taught me rmy morals,
and how to treat a wife.
you have guided me along,
helped keep me on the right path,
taught me right from wrong,
and even given me a bath.
as i get closer to manhood,
you sometimes worry about me,
but you have taught me well,
and soon i will be flying free.
living by the morals i was taught,
and by the way i was raised,
i hope that i will do well,
and by you be praised.
moms are many things,
rolled all into one,
they hold your hand when you are scared,
until you see the bright sun.
some moms leave their kids,
who never know how great a mom is,
but you would never do that,
and i thank God for this.
i want to tell you thanks,
for being the most wonderful mother,
i love you with all my heart,
of you there is no other.

this and the 5 other poems with person-named titles were written as a special christmas gift for family.
