Drifted

by AntiSocial16   Dec 29, 2004

A broken smile upon her face
A small lost child in this big place
Darkened memories in her head
Thoughts for which she has bled
For each one, she’s made a crimson line
A reminder of failure, and unforgettable sign
One for how much she was hurt by the past
Hoping it would be the final scar, the last
But then she finds another reason to make a scar again
And the cutting goes on and can never end
So she continues on with a broken smile
Thinking cutting can make her life worth while
She can’t get better and heal her scars
Her mind’s taken over and she’s drifted too far
Drifted away from those who loved her most
She’s become a faint memory like a transparent ghost
Drifted from who she was in her childhood days
And she can’t return, she’s drifted too far away
