Ye Olde Wishing Well

by Saige   Dec 30, 2004

The wet and cool clear water
Amplifies the stones below.
The sun directs the rays of light
To make them glisten and glow.

Amid the clustered pebbles
Rest coins both old and new.
Each one with it’s own story
That it could narrate to you.

The well responds to wishes
To stories filled with tears.
But turns a deafened ear
To wishes not sincere.

So take a coin and let it fall
And let your story tell.
If truth and love are present
A wish be granted from the well.

The visions so attractive
The stories it could tell.
Are awaiting so patiently
At the old wishing well.
