Walkway

by tender69   Dec 30, 2004

Footsteps fall
On asphalt paved
Black as brimstone
This latter day.
I know all
That this walk has lost
The trees in the sky
They so do talk
Of greater times
when birds did fly
And gracious song
Rang joyful with pride,
And animals lived
In harmony
No human harm
Nor enemies,
And I think sad thoughts
Of this latter day
And how little time
The past has changed.
