What Do You Do?

by Tanya, Mom of one.   Dec 30, 2004

What do you do when your friend is hurting,
To let them know you care?
Let them know they aren't alone,
Just let them know you'll be there.

I know the pain your feeling,
I've walked these steps before,
Dreading every minute of it,
As I walked thru the church door.

If you need a shoulder to cry on,
Or to yell to get it out,
I will listen to your every word,
Even if you shout.

The loss you will feel is unbearable,
It's an emptiness inside,
Thinking of what you could've done,
Still thinking of her eyes.

It will be ok eventually,
Tho it may not be soon,
The guilt thats left within you,
Will make you feel consumed.

But in the heart of your Nanny,
She knows you've always been there,
Maybe not right with her,
But believe me, she know's you care.

It's the way of the "Old Ones",
They have a way with these things,
Of knowing you have a life of your own,
And knowing what changes they bring.

I know it hasn't happened yet,
But know I'll be there too,
When that day comes and you need me,
I'll be there because I love you.

Nothing I say can help right now,
Just know that I do care,
I know how much you love your Nanny,
And she knows in her heart, you are there.

***Love ya Sis***
