Very Best Day!

He picked me up at six or so
Because I called him and said I was ready to go

It was our very best date
And when asked I told him I wanted him to take me to ice skate

He said no way that he was bad on ice
But he had something else in mind and it was real nice

I had no idea but I went along with it
Sitting there and anxiously on my lip I bit

We finally arrived to a lake
I asked if he got lost or made a mistake

He laughed and said "Nope this is the spot."
Then he explained, why to him, it meant a whole lot

He said "This is my very own special place."
Then he said he wanted to share it with me, right then my heart began to race

Then he put his arms around my hips and side
He said “Don’t worry I won’t let you fall, I’ll be your guide! “

We sat there and let our feet hang over the ledge
He held me close so I wouldn’t fall over then edge

He looked in my eyes
And said “I swear you’re an angel in disguise “

We sat there just losing track of time and everything
Then out of no where you asked me to sing

At first I said no way but how he begged was so kind
Then I began to sing a-cappella to the first thing in my mind

You began smiling and said I had a beautiful voice
And to sing again I had no choice

He had an eyelash and I said we have to make a wish on this
Turns out we both wanted our first kiss

Well, walking back to his truck we sat on the tail gate
Right as we were leaning in it was too late

My sister called his cell and asked if I was there
Of course he covered for me and I didn’t care

I guess I should say I snuck out
And that made me sister angry no doubt

We hopped in his truck, the date coming near an end
We both still wanted the kiss neither of us could pretend

He stopped at a stop sign
And said “You have no idea how lucky I am, that your mine”

Then he leaned in and we had our first kiss
Since the other try was obviously a miss

And he was the boy in which I got my first French kiss
The greatest moments of sweet bliss

Then on the way back he said” I love you and that scares me to death”
Those three words made me loose my breath

As soon as he dropped me off he called me said “That was incredible I don’t know what so say." I came back with my response on how it was my very best day

Yeah, because he was older my sister got mad
But no one can take away the day we had
