Drifter

by missy   Dec 30, 2004

You come into my life quickly
& seem to walk out just as fast
then you want me to accept you back
how is that going to help you and I last?

You are just a drifting man to me
& no more will I get caught in your mixture
I always take you back-you use me
tell me, what's wrong with this picture?

One day you Love me so strongly
the next- hatred fills your head
am I the only one who is wrong here
in assuming that you and I are dead?

The feelings of regret are growing
& soon I'll be filled with doubt
why is it that you always run back to me
when those other girls never work out?

While the seasons change before you & I
& you just pass like new fallen snow
can you ever be a steady man
or is drifting all you'll ever know?
