The Christmas that never came

by 0000000   Dec 31, 2004

I was so happy in my bed
counting the stars over my head,

Waiting patiently for Christmas eve
To see what Santa had brought for me

I waited and waited looking at my watch, looking at the clock
looking out my window to see when it got dark

And finally the time was here

I went to wake my folks up, but they were nowhere near,
they were nowhere to be found

I searched and searched and couldn't find a thing,
Started to get sad thinking they have forgot the joy of Christmas eve
"AHA theres a note for me"

I read:
Dear Micheal we out to dinner your father and I, open the the present we left for you tonight, I thought you might get hungry, so I left you a bite in the kitchen oven, turn it on the 350 degrees and wait for 15 minutes, enjoy this Christmas because were leaving Washington tomorrow morning sorry we couldn't be there with you OK
Love, Mom

as I finished reading a tear went down my face

But then was joyful to have another day

I did as my mom told and went to go turn the oven,
then I went to open my Christmas gifts

So happy so joyful I wanted to catch some air,
the door did not open

So I just stayed inside and watch T.V while by eyes were catching a dream

I fell asleep and started dreaming for another Christmas eve a new beginning

when suddenly I smelled a weird and hard smell

OH NO!!!
The oven is still on!!

I ran to the kitchen and there was smoke everywhere I got close to turn it off but hot it was

I ran to my presents and ran to the picture book and went to the corner and said "Thank God I lived another day Please let me live tomorrow"

Now there was fire and getting closer it was,
I turned around but I didn't feel a thing

I laid there lifeless in The Christmas That Never Came
