My Benediction

by Monique   Dec 31, 2004

I tell no one,
I speak of nothing,
I am but a fading light,
who disappears in velvet night.

I do not stare;
I only glance.
I only smile,
when I have a chance.

My life rolls by
on fast forward,
and if I were not to jump,
I'd be considered a coward.

I pray, that you,
can pause for a fleeting moment.
I pray, that you,
don't live a life of torment.

And if this was to be my last conviction,
consider this, for you, my benediction.
