All the people in the world

All of the people in the world
hate to get hurt.
I was babysitting tonight,
and that is what I heard.
It caught me off guard,
I couldnt help but laugh.
She's five years old.
I want to remember what it was like
to fear pain,
when physical pain
was worse than emotional pain.
I remember not being able to use knifes
and using scissors too dull to cut hair.
But I can't remember
ever thinking like this little girl
