Lady Death

by shenoa   Jan 1, 2005

Sitting high above the city's lights
watching as the world of crime ignites
rising with a defeated sigh
mounts the edge, and prepares to fly

she stepped off the edge, allowing herself to sore
plunging from the sky, like the rain does pour
falls to the ground, with a soft little thud
feet landing on the streets, covered in the gritty mud

she advances down broken asphalt, sorrow fallows her every step
seeing through the dark, and the secrets this city kept
ignoring every beggar or tramp that comes across her path
looking for the one person who has awoke her ruthless wrath

she stopped in front of a gun battles rage
to kiss the lips of a boy who was young of age
he falls to the ground, blood seeping from his wound
she walked by, seemingly immune

she traveled on down her endless course
taking life, but never with force
if you haven't guessed who this silent beauty is
who can easily take life with a solemn kiss

shame has never stopped her in her wake
she cares not for who's life she must take
she stops again, for an abandoned child
who was left to the streets to run wild

she roams on, throughout the city's night
never stopping before any's might
till finally the beckoning calls ceased
returns to her rooftop to wait to be released
