Very Lucky

by Robyn Thomas   Jan 1, 2005

My voice rings out in open air
"Just take me now! Life isn't fair!"
But I don't think thats what I should say
Maybe for a little longer I'll stay

To take care of friends seeking advice
To take care of family, though they're cold as ice
To take care of people who haven't a home
To take care of children who were left alone

Just now I began to realize
That many people see the world through different eyes
And many people see it much, much worse
That they themselves begin to curse

Just remember this simple thought:
You are very lucky, are you not?
Sitting at your computer, eating chips
While someone, far far away, will envy this
