Sweet Tears, Broken Smiles

by Natalie McPhee   Jan 2, 2005

The tear rolled down,
Her porcelain cheek,
Sweet tears,
For a tormented soul,
Frozen expressions,
Fall upon,
Her face made of delicate china.

The tears that ruined her rosy glow,
Crack the glaze,
Her happy expression,
Smashed,
By a broken smile,
Sad eyes,
Warm the heart,
Crush the soul.

She lays there, no expression,
Lifeless,
Her gentle voice,
Trapped in a dream or terror,
All she has is her broken smile,
A sweet tear of sorrow and,
The memory of broken dreams.
