Sadness

Mascara stained cheeks,
Desperation,
Loss of faith.

Tears that sting,
Hands filled with angry hair clumps,
Speech retained behind the frozen gaze.

An empty body, with a broken soul,
Nothing’s left,
But for the heart to unfold.
