I have this one photo
just of you and me
a second that was captured
a moment for me to see

I look at it each day
re live that special time
hold it to my heart and say
"that day when dad was mine"

the photo tells a story
our readings not the same
in my smile u can see the glory
in your eyes you can see the pain

i often look at you
wonder why you didnt care
your "smile" looks untrue
as if you'd rather be elsewhere

Its just of you and me
this photo that i own
and though its you i see
i still feel so alone

    This is about your Dad right...and I'm guessing he left? Same happened to me when I was 11...it was a real hard thing to go through for me. It's a real heartfelt poem though...it's just a shame that things aren't always how you wish they'd be huh?!

    That was a touching poem! It would have been much easier to read if there had been no use of "netspeak". If you go back and replace such things as "u" with you, and capitillize the "I's", I feel that the emotions that you are conveying will come across more clearly. I'm really sorry about your dad. Keep writing!

    hmm..this one is very original too. I liked it. But maybe work on the flow on this one too, because the middle stanzas flow is a bit off. That's okay though, over all i didn't see any faults in this poem and I really enjoyed it. The idea behind it is great!
