Broken Past

The raindrops outside fall
Behind I leave it all
For once was a peaceful place
Is now a sad and gloomy face

If this is what it means
And fail is in between
All the lies you’ve ever said
Is now and forever dead.

My heart was full before
But left now is an empty core
My head that was once filled with peaceful thoughts
Is now brain dead and left to rot.

If this is a dream and all fake
I would appreciate it if I could wake
I never asked to have a broken heart
I never imagined we would part

But for now as I’m lying here
And my eyes shed just one more tear
I’ll think of all that we’ve been through
