This corner of mine

This corner is my only comfort
As my heart pours out in streams
These written words are my escape
While my angry face steams

You leave me here all alone
Crying in the shadows
These tears that are falling
Make a river that flows

I suffocate in sobbing gasps
And struggle to breath around you
I can’t breathe when I’m near
Much less when you don’t too

I’m writing this to get away
From the self inflicted pain
I build you up in my mind
And I’m crushed when dreams are slain

I love hate you more than ever
I’m not sure which one right now
I’d like my payback sometime
But I have no clue how

I have given up in my quest for you
I’ve given up my hope
So again these tears do flow
But eventually I will cope

These tears will not stop coming
I gaze through windows that distort
And make you so much better
This corner is my only comfort
