Pray to a god

I know I don’t believe in you
But I still can’t stand
How you have forsaken me
And left me on my own

I could pray to you if I chose
Or go to church from time to time
But you show me not reason
To make the change of life

If you did I might actually pray
For you to bring me love
My live is so empty
With my futile attempts at it

This is my one call out to you
Listen if you choose
It’s the only one you’ll get
Use it how ever you may

There is this girl you see
I’m desperately in love with
But the problems are insurmountable
And the distance is too great

She means the world and more to me
And she’s as pretty as your sun
She lights me days with happiness
And she lights my nights with love

So choose to listen to my plea
Or not the choice is yours
I leave you alone for now
I hope there’s compassion in you
