Ever-Lasting Friendship

Everyone needs a friend sometimes
For when they’re feeling down
We always need a person
To make us smile instead of frown.

And you my friend are that person
You take my worries away
I’m always here to help
And to listen to what you want to say

And if you left me tomorrow
Or if you hurt yourself and died
You would be in my heart forever
Even though I wouldn't know why

But I think you hate me
Or you don’t really want to be my friend
There are others that you’d rather know
Or be with till the end

So I’m asking you this question
Hoping that the answer is true
Hoping you feel the same
And hoping the answer is from you

Are you my friend
Or are you just playing this game
If you truly are my friend
You should remember my name

You were once my true companion
And you gave me your soul and heart
But you were so great that since Ive lost you
It’s torn my life apart

You opened up to me
And showed me within your life
You showed me your father
And his newly found wife

My days were once wonderful
When I was with you
But now since you've left me
I've done nothing but feel blue

What was once a wonderful friendship
Has turned itself around
We held onto our wishes
And that’s what kept us bound

But we let go of those dreams
And our wishes drifted away
And I never got the chance
To tell you what I wanted to say

Hold onto your dreams
And wish with all your might
Don’t settle for second best
You have to put up a fight

But finally and most importantly
Don’t forget me
Because I’m holding onto my dreams
Of what I want us to be

So if I left you tomorrow
Or if I hurt myself and died
Would I be in your heart forever
Even if you werent sure why

Am I truly your friend
Or do you just tell me what needs to be said
Do you feel like you know me
When you lean upon my head

Don’t say anything
Unless it’s what you feel
In that case don’t say anything
Because I want it to be real

I need you in my life
I don’t care what other people think
If you want me in yours
Let me know by giving me a wink

Some people die without loving
Or being loved in return
But the only love I want
Is the one from you that I yearn

The love is of friendship
And that’s the one that you can’t beat
Especially from you
Cause what you offer is pretty neat

So if we left tomorrow
Or hurt ourselves and died
We’d float up to heaven
And meet each other in the sky

We’d be together forever
And love the life we lived
And to those less fortunate than us
We’d offer them everything we had to give

Cause if you have love and friendship
You have everything you’ll require
And if you lose your special friend
The consequences will be dire

But at the moment all I can do
Is dream about what I wish for
And maybe one day
It will turn into something more

But if I went away tomorrow
