Falling words
When do we realize that we have fallen in love, when do we know it is just a dream
And how well do we trust the night and blowing wind
As I take each step and as I notice each leaf falling, I reach to the one that caught
my attention and gently placed it in the palm of my hand
It felt so fresh, it looked so young, so full of color and so beautiful
I wonder of why so soon you fell
I ask myself that same question, Why so soon did I fall in love?
How easy it came to my heart to let you in with open arms
For my mind does not even know where the road takes you and I
As the rain starts falling, I looked at the sky and my tears started to join the rain
I stood there hopelessly nothing can be said, nothing can be done.
Because I once told you that I love you with everything I own and now I will never be
able to show you who I really am
You were everything there was to think of, everything my heart believed in
How can I be what you want me to be?
The park we took each step together, hand in hand and when you assured me
that it was going to be forever but I just realized when we were together in that park
I look around me now and I see how the leaves are changing and each leaf is falling
They were just like your words, they died and they fell right along as each leaf ended
it's time
As I leaned against the tree when you first kissed me, looked straight in my eyes
and promised you would never leave me, never would you do me wrong and never would you
break my heart
I want to end this chapter of you and I with a simple good bye, you will never have a place in my heart but the memories they will always be locked in my thoughts............
