Tsunami Disaster ...26th Dec 2004

by jenni   Jan 5, 2005

They didn't see it coming
No one predicted the fate
People vacating, enjoying
Unaware many would die that date.

Babies shaded from the sun
Children paddling in the sea
Ladies sunbathing, relaxing
Hear the laughter, See the glee.

Out on the horizon
Charging towards the shore
People stood, Terrorized in horror
As they realized what they saw.

A woman ran to grab her children
As the Tsunami crashed further in
A panic filled the crowded beach
People screaming from within.

Hardly any places to escape
No time to call any friends
The festive season, utterly destroyed
The Tsunami's journey ends.

Many a person washed away
Or destroyed within their home
Many a child's parents killed
Many a child left alone.

Survivors, there thankfully were some
But victims increased per day
What did they do to deserve this?
Why did innocent have to pay?

So each night in your bed
Be thankful for what you've got
A give a little prayer for
The victims, They will not be forgot.
