And It Was All Over

As he came to the door
he saw a look of excitement in her eyes
as he handed her some flowers
(he used the last of his money on that surprise)
she gave him a hug, and yes, he was kissed,
as she ran out the door
she told her parents they would be missed
her mother, so happy, tried her best not to cry
if only she knew
this would be her last chance to say goodbye
on their way to their prom, they got in the car
it was only a short ride
they weren't going far
they drove down the road, laughing and talking
which is probably why they didn't see
that person that came walking
at the last second he forced the car to turn
but it was too late
they would not return
bright red stained her new white dress
but her heart kept beating, strong, then a little bit less
then sitting next to her, the boy touched his head
he felt no pain
but oh, how it bled...
a red line down his face formed a crimson tear
thats when he knew it wouldn't be much longer
that they would remain here
he held her close, tried to comfort her fear
but he knew it wouldn't last
they wouldn't be seeing next year
it took most of his stregth to whisper "its going to be ok"
she looked back into his dying eyes, softly whispered "i love you"
and thats when she finally slipped away
a real tear appeared as he lay, still holding her
but then his eyes slowly shut
and it was all over

(no, this didn't actually happen (that i know of... i guess i just have a twisted mind)
