At My Little Brothers' Grave

by FireCracker   Jan 7, 2005

A poor young boy
Hopeless and alone
Now here I sit,
his name chiseled in stone

Kids at school picked at him
And made fun, also laughed
Took this poor boys life and forced him to tear it in half

The boy hiding himself
So lonely and to himself deep inside
I had not a clue how sad he really was, had I known for help I would have tried

But the boy didn’t want help
He wanted to die
So hear I am sitting at his grave
Bidding my little brother goodbye

I can’t begin to explain
How this has affected me
I wish all those heartless kids
Could just see

All because of those young brats
I lost my little brother
And I’m waiting for someone as special to come back in my life
Knowing what I felt for him there could not possible be another

My brother was young and so small
But had the biggest heart of all

He was younger then me
But taught me the beauty in life
That’s why it was so devastating to
Find him lying on the ground with that knife

My heart broke
It completely broke in half
I love him so much
I miss hearing his voice of sweet honey, and his beautiful laugh

I miss the little things, like hearing his footsteps coming down the hall
Why would he do something so stupid? I saw his future and he could have had is all

My brother taught me to share my knowledge with others for the benefit of them
Well to everyone hears the message I send:

Don’t put others down or insult them to try and help you
Because it cost me my little brother, and someday will cost you too

A very sweet and sad poem with a good message. You expressed yourself very well in it. A good lesson to be learned, just sad some people have to learn it that way. Anyway, well written and a nice read. Keep it up.
