Baby Boy

by SamiJo   Jan 7, 2005

Laying on the table,
Staring at the ceiling,
Eyes filled with tears,
And an unfamiliar feeling.

I never could've imagined,
That I'd end up in this room.
Where so many lives have been taken,
And girl's hearts filled with gloom.

The doctor walked in and said,
"This will all happen really quick."
The nurse held my hand,
I felt myself getting sick.

We had looked so forward,
To having this little joy.
And honey, if it were up to us,
We'd have our baby boy.

Think of how different our lives would be now,
Everything would've changed.
We'd finally have a family,
But our plans got rearranged.

I'm sorry I'm only 16,
My mom just thought it was best.
She said we simply weren't ready,
And I just couldn't protest.

I hope you will realize,
That I regret what I have done.
And sweetie, don't you worry.
One day, you'll have your son....

I can kinda relate to this poem b/c I'm 14 & I'm pregnant & everyone wants me to have an abortion but I don't want one. It's too early to tell what I'm having , But, this is a great poem. Keep it up.
