Mortality

by Sinister Soire   Jan 7, 2005

Can you see this like I do
How life is over once it’s through
There are no second chances
Most don’t even get proper glances

We are so callously torn from the womb
And thrust into decay and doom
Where all our lives are one the track
To be buried six feet under a plaque

Our lives are the most fragile thing
It’s a complicated thing, the human being
Suffering invades us when were born
And follows up until we're torn

We continue our corruption in constant method
Which seems to last and infinite period
But in reality of your life
It hangs over you like a knife

For every second you are alive
And for acceptance you strive
You will spend infinite in a grave
And gain no ground but as a slave

In the total scheme of things we exist for a moment
You can choose to cherish and hold it
But realize each experience is a flicker
Of the overall flame that is life
