Hate and Pride

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 7, 2005

There was an evil angel full of hate and pride
Angered by the Love it wanted to set aside
Full of envy and greed, it was never satisfied
Leading the other slothful angels, that it would misguide

All of the angels that followed and had fell,
Who wanted Lucifer to lead and excel.
Had to be cast out of heaven into hell
Where there's not any Love, to forever dwell

He's still not content to be free from Love
The power he refused to serve above
He claims a victory now and then
When his hate enters the hearts of men

How easy it is for mortal man to hate
And turn away from the Love that is so great
To lead to Lucifer's awful fate
In our own world a hell to create

Hate can only destroy what Love can heal
You can only believe what you can feel
When we hate someone we allow Lucifer to steal
The only thing that is eternally good for real
