The Journey

by Xavier JG   Jan 8, 2005

As people we're always trying to get somewhere.
We are always trying to overcome struggle, proving people wrong and/or persevering through the challenges of daily life.
We sometimes forget the road, the moment and the essence of the path in one's life.
Through time we will eventually get somewhere, either through sheer personal determination, by a fortunate accident or simply by fate, one's destiny decided by God.

The ironic aspect of life is we don't know where we will be when our journey ends.
Life provides us many journeys, different stages in our lives and
ever-changing attitudes, outlooks, beliefs.
Besides enjoying "the ride or journey", there is one thing we can control.
As people we can control how we go about our individual journey, the effort we put forth, our focus, the enjoyment, the experience learned the knowledge gained, people we encounter and bridges we build.
The essence of the journey, the struggle to attain a goal and the process of growing is what should be cherished.
Understanding how fortunate our opportunities are once we are
presented should be the enjoyment.
Live life with purpose, love, sharing, character and virtue.

Again another good poem. your words makes me think about the possibilities of human life, hopelessly lost and yet so much to be hoped for.
Please check out my work, I would be interested in your opinions.
