Forbiden Fruit

They Say Because Your Black Your Poison To My Life
But Your All I Think About Everyday And Night

My Parents Forbid Me To See You They Say Your A "Nigger"
Yet I Love You So, So Tell Me How They Figure

I Looked At You Everyday Going On Two Years
And None Of Those Name Callings Seem To Ever Interfere

One Day My Parents Caught Me Giving Him a Hug
So I Confessed Up To Them. And Said I Was In Love

I Didn't Really Care Because His Color Was Never Seen
It Was What I Felt Inside That Made My Body Fein

For His Love And Everything In between

My Father For Once Stood Up To Me And Slapped Me Across My Face
He Told Me I Was a Nigger Lover, And Niggers He Did Hate

I Got Back On My Feet And Punched Him In The Mouth
Your Something I Can't Live With, Hes Something I Cant Live Without

You Cant Control Me I'm Doing What I Was Never Raised To Do
To Realize Black People Has Done Nothing To Me And You

In My Stomach Ly's A Seed Of Three
Hes Apart Of Us And Hes Apart Of Me

And Forever We Will Stay Together Because Forever Will Always Be
IT Doesn't Matter What Color Is, Because Love You Cannot See

What a truely wonderful poem dealing with racism. I have very racist parents myself, but if I was ever forbidden to date someone of a different race, I'd punch my dad too.

    Great work. x

Beautiful poem I liked it very much. Dont\'t let no one keep u down and keep doing what your doing. Im a black man also and i understand the difficulties of interracial dating. Just forget the haters cause love is color blind and racism is ignorant.
