Daddy?

Daddy,
I hear that word said so much,
but yet i don't know what it means.
For i do not know who my father is.

I ask my mommy,
"Who's my daddy?"
"A very evil man," she'll say.
You see, he'd beat her everyday.

He left us when i was 1.
Our pain was finally over
He would come to see me,
But stopped when i was 8.

Now i have a new daddy.
And i finally know,
What daddy really means.
I love you daddy!
