Images In Minds

by Nici   Jan 8, 2005

'A picture paints a thousand words'
Yes this may be true
But may we never forget that
Words can paint a picture too
A worded picture clear, but blurred
Painted by our mind
Allows us to create a scene
Using images we find
These images we conjure up
Are unique to us alone
Seen by us and no other
They provide for us a stone
This stone we use
To build our thoughts
One layer at a time
The picture which we sought
First allowed to fill our mind
Once built to full
The wall we've made
Stands strong and ever vivid
Based on the stones we laid
An ever growing story

The poem is about dreams and how words can make up pictures.
