The True Life of Me

No one knows
Anything but what they see
But they don't know
About the true life of me.

I try to look happy
And content with my life
But inside I'm upset
Thinking of all of the strife.

My heart breaks
Every time my parents fight
I pull the headphones over my ears
Ready to face another horrible night.

I'm struggling with depression
A drowing sadness in my heart
It hurts me to think
That my parents are growing apart.

What happened to our simple life
When we all got along?
Was it because of me?
Was there something I did wrong?

I can't take this much longer
I don't know how much I can stand
Arguements and hateful words
Dismiss any comfort at hand.

I cling to the few happy things in my life
Like the warmth of a friend's loving word
Or the welcoming arms of my one and only
And the people who listen when I want to be heard.

But no one knows
They believe only what they see
They wouldn't understand
The true life of me.

    fantastic poem it rhymed really well and was so well written and emotional great work! loved it alot i can really realte except now my parants hav actually split up. it sucks but try and focus on better things and know they love you.

    THis poem is really good I've just gone through the same thing my parents are in the proccess of divorce and I've been struggling with depression for a while now just hang in there and don't be alone on the real tough days find someone that will be there for you. it's the best thing to do keep your head up , and be with friends that won't let you do something stupid
    keep up the good work your in my prayers I give it a 5
