The battle part I- view from a passerby

by speculative_scene   Jan 9, 2005

While on my porch lackadaisically standing
Lethargically looking out from the landing
What should my wondering eyes suddenly observe
But Night's army stepping boldly out of reserve
Clad in black armor, come to get rid of the light
To come upon the day and push it out of sight
The day must resist, it must conquer the grave dark
The day must win against the night ever so stark
But the night keeps chasing reluctant to go back
The night presses on holding strong with the attack
Night sweeps upon day light water upon the shore
Today washes away to be seen nevermore
