She thought she could live without him
that she would be okay
that it really didn't matter
if he didn't want to stay

that she could get through
that she would love again
that one day she might
just love someone the same

she had a smile on her face
made a vow to stay strong
that she would not get pulled down
that one day when he's gone

but when the time came
they had gotten so close
by that time he was the
one she needed most

as he looked her in the eyes
pulled away his hand
asking her to forgive him
asking her to understand

her eyes filled up with tears
but they didn't over flow
she smiled very slightly
and then she let him go

she let him walk away
with a simple I love you
which was simply returned
with another I love you too

and that was it her heart
dropped she couldn't help but cry
she couldn't understand
how she let him say good-bye

why she didn't fight
and what she was gonna do
she loved him so much
but now it's all through

now she's not very strong
no one will ever be the same
her plan was failing
before it was just a game

she doesn't see him anymore
they don't talk, he won't call
and she misses him so much
she's missing it all

he has found another
she tries to get back in the game
