Steps

A step towards you,

Could be good or bad,

It could be a step towards being happy,

Or a step towards being sad…

If I took that step,

And subtracted two,

I’d be walking away,

Away from being with you…

If I added three more,

I’d be closer to you,

But I took four steps back,

What should I do?

Should I run into your arms,

And try to stay,

Or would the pressure be to much,

And cause me to back away?

Should I just turn around,

And not turn back again?

It’s a hard decision to make,

Is it the beginning or the end?

Should I give you a chance?

I can take my time,

I don’t have to run,

Walking is not a crime…

I’m stepping up to you,

And letting all my doubts go,

As long as you promise,

I can take it slow…

So take your time,

Do it for me,

Then my eyes might open,

To when I can see,

That being with you,

Can really be good,

And I’ll continue on forward,

Now that I have understood…

That if I give things a chance,

And let go of all doubt,

I’ll move forward in life,

That’s what the first step’s about...
