Rest of Forever

by Zackery   Jan 10, 2005

It’s just the evening now,
An hour since I first saw you this night
But a foot away from your shimmering beauty,
Overwhelmed by your radiance, I’m at your mercy
Like a wave crashing on the shore
My mind falls onto itself over and over again
The sound of your voice drowns out all other noise
The sweet movement of your lips,
Their sound entices me to release my grip on the ocean floor,
To drift further and farther out to sea with you

The clocks hands turn quickly and strike hours later.
The extra noise has long since left us.
I’m completely consumed by the sound of your voice.
No distractions with which my mind can wander
From your unwavering beauty
Radiating from yourself,
Your saccharine scent captures me
Completely transfixed by your brilliance,
I sit and stare, I could for hours
Knowing nothing could ever change how I feel right now,
I’d all at once let go of everything,
Release everything, just to hold you for the rest of forever. . .
