Time

Time is so important; it governs all our lives
There never is enough of it, and doesn’t it just fly?
So much to do so little time, so hard to fit things in,
But if you bear with me I know that I can find a space
And somehow squeeze you in.

Friday night’s to wash my hair, and Saturday’s to shop.
Then there is this party, my god I never stop!
Sunday’s up the central coast for shopping with the girls
Then its back for dinner with dear old Aunty Shirl.
Mondays this, and Tuesdays that, I really don’t have the time.

Hey! How about I ring you at least that’s nice and quick?
I’ll put it in my diary and mark it with a tick,
So soon as I can find the time you’re the first one on my list.
You really are a sweetie, a really special guy
I promise I will make it up to you, I promise that I’ll try.

What don’t you understand, what have I done wrong?
I said that I will ring you when I find the time.
Yes I know you love me, and want to see me more
But I just don’t have the time, so why are you so sore?
Look I told you, I’ve got a lot of friends, and they mean a lot to me
So there the story ends.

Why don’t I include you, I never gave it thought.
I guess that I can have more fun when I’m on my own.
Sure I want to see you and I do with half a chance
But its just not possible, I thought you’d understand.
This is how I live my life; there’s no room there for a man.

I’m sorry, I told you from the start, I’ve always been a loner,
I don’t like to be tied down.
Again I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to lead you on.
I thought that we were just good friends, I’ll miss you when you’re gone.
Yes I really will I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you when you’re gone.
