Last time i saw your face
I knew the truth
Buried deep within the ashes
Of your mind

They lay there glistening
Shining out in the darkness
Longing to be realised
Seeking attention

There is more yet to learn
From what we already know
About truth lies and emotion
Buried deep

Your face perplexed
And your mind halted
At the discovery I've made
About your truth

For you did not know the truth yourself
Beneath the false exterior
The one you wear to hide the real you
The truth disguised

The puzzled looks you wear
Leave an imprint on your soul
For i have blown away the dust and found something
I never knew

Immediately the lies are gone
And i see you for what you are
And the glistening beauty i once saw
Has rusted with depression

I cant understand how this happened
For what i once saw
Is no more than scraps as it could've been
Silver or gold

The exterior of your life cannot be changed
As the beauty is long gone
And what i once new as shining personality
Is dull and rusty
