A precious Child

by Melanie Amber   Jan 12, 2005

A precious child
was taken away
his love for her
was all betrayed

betrayed by a mother
who was all but a mom
who had raging fits
and was never calm

never calm
to care for her son
the constant yelling
harmed each one

harmed them so much
that they could not grow
his highest potential
he would never know

never know
exactly what it took
to get his mom
to make one happy look

one happy look
to make his day
one faithful smile
to chase his pains away

away so far
they can't come back
and make him forget
when mom got smacked

smacked so hard
it took years to block
the visions he saw
was such a shock

such a shock
to see those faces
and not remember
all those familiar places

familiar places
where the pain's attached
emotions stirring
cause the unlatched

the unlatched feelings
that remind him or her
her blissful ignorance
can seem like a blur

seems like a blur
since the things she said
tore him apart
and ripped him to shreads

ripped him to shreads
so he'd cry and think
why his mom left
and then his heart would sink

sink to the floor
and that's where it stays
as crazy as it sounds
he wish she would've stayed
