Moonlight Prayer

I know that you can hear me
And I know that you are there.
Here I’m sitting on my knees
Ready to say my prayers.

God please give me another chance,
A chance to say goodbye.
You took my love away so soon
You left me to wonder why.

My love why did you go?
You left me standing here
I call for you day and night
I search for you everywhere.

I look up in the sky
And your smile is all I see
I hear your voice in the wind
But I know it’s only my fantasy.

I see your face in the moonlight
And your touch along my cheek
I feel a deep sadness I cannot fight
A pain that leaves me weak.

God, all I ask is for one more day
Just to see his face.
