Daddy

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 12, 2005

Daddy do you remember what you done
Whether I was working or having fun
You'd say, what are you building son
While I was discussing my spiritual problems, they felt like they weighed a ton
I learned that building worldly structures is very important to your grandson

I was in church, I was listening to Father, who was talking about God
I did not think that latter that day, that I would find it so very odd
That he was talking about another so very important goal
He was talking about building a spiritual structure for a soul

The day before your daughter, said she had to keep her feet planted firmly on the ground
I did not argue with her the importance of worldly structures to the earth bound
I really don't think she is too proud
To ask for help from the Father out loud

So, if you were to ask me now, what are you building son, I could only say,
That it is my hope is to build on both of these structures every day.
And if while on this earth I roam
Someone asks me, where is your home,

I will tell them heaven, is where it's at
And daddy you and mammy did know that
