Another Day

It seems as if everyone is fighting
And I'm steadily drifting away
I don't know if I'll make it
Through another day.

The sun left my sky
And was replaced with rain
If my happiness was an ocean
Then someone just pulled the drain.

My parent's yells echo
Inside of my head
Over the music booming out of my stereo
Every arguement adds to the dread.

And just when I thought I'd taken all that I could
My rock, my reasurrance, my boyfriend
Was suddenly slipping out of my heart
I just sat and awaited the end.

I almost broke down
When I thought I couldn't take any more
And then I felt like I was fading
I was so unsure.

It took the hand of my best friend
Giving me a pat on the back
To remember who I really was
And thanks to her I remembered where I was at.

I began to understand
And started to return to my normal life
My boyfriend, school, and family
I can take it all in, and avoid the strife.

Depression is awful
It feels like your fading
Don't stay upset forever
Your life is in danger if you're waiting.

Everyone was fighting
And I wanted to get away
But I found the stregnth within
And I can make it through another day.
