Fading Happiness

I feel scared
I feel empty
Someone has ripped my heart out
I had no choice but to helplessly watch it being spat on

I cared for you
Deep down in my heart I thought I loved you
I trusted you to protect me from the evil in this world
What I didn't know was that I needed to be protected from you

I was willing to do it all
I went against my wishes just to make you happy
I let you abuse my body so you'd be happy

I lied to make you happy
I threw away my closest friend
You're happiness was my goal in life

No matter what I did for you, it was never enough
You always wanted what I wasn't willing to give
I told you I was waiting
You thought it was dumb

You knew it was the only thing you couldn't have
It drove you mad
You tried to push me
What I already gave you made me hurt deep inside

All I ever wanted from you was respect
If you loved me, you would've respected what was mine
You wouldn't have let me do the things I did

It took me awhile to see how you were
I realized what your goal was, and it wasn't happiness

All the tears that fell before were pushed away this time
I did what should have been done a long time ago

I didn't cry this time
I knew your secrets
They made me hate you
Even worst, they made me hate myself
