Here and Gone

This fight and that
What is the big deal
Everything blows out of control
Loosing control of the wheel

Why can't it be fun
The way it always used to be
Can't everyone just get along
There's nothing here to see

Starring blankly into space
Just wasting our time
When we could be having fun
Or is that such a crime

Don't you remember just last summer
Skating at the rink
Laying out on the grass
I didn’t want to blink

Summer nearing and end
September came too fast
Didn't have time to realize
These times won't always last

Just think this time next year
We'll be getting out of school
And heading to work everyday
Instead of chilling by the pool

It makes it cry sometimes
To know life is going to change
People moving here and there
Everything will rearrange

Just remember that summer
And all the laughs we shared
Forget about the fights
When no one even cared

You’re only this age once
And summers here and gone
Stop the fights and have some fun
Before tomorrows dawn
