Firm Ruler Beloved

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 13, 2005

Say goodbye to my worn out body, but remember that somebody knows
I am just going down town with the man I once knew as Mose
You know, that man that lived with grandma, known as grandpa to Ronnie Rose
I'm going to take a walk with Jesus in the path He chose

My dear sweet mother of sorrows please don't mourn
You know we all must leave this earth to be born
Into eternal life in heaven, to be relieved of natural scorn
I certainly have not forgotten that every rose has its thorn

Although I am a fighter, we both know it is time to end this earthly fight
I must leave this world, so I can be united with the God of power and might
Nature always seems to win, to all those whom only have natural sight
But we can see our merciful Savior has come to make it right

I am going to trade my cross and thorns in for a crown
And rule with a heavenly smile, far from an earthly frown
Yes, you know grandpa and me we are just going down town
Heaven is everywhere love is. Now our love can be renown
