Loneliness

by RCM   Jan 14, 2005

Speak to me of loneliness
Of the times I spend alone
And don’t forget the many folk
That through the years I’ve known.
The children, friends and family
So many now have gone
But in their place they leave behind
Their memories in my mind.

The nights and days go by so quick
The years go faster still
But then again from where I stand
My life is all uphill.
Once my life was built on dreams
On hopes and joy, no fear,
And when I think and reminisce
I shed a little tear.

I miss someone to hold my hand
I miss those quiet nights
But most I miss someone
To kiss and hold me tight.
I miss the love that closeness brings
I miss a heart to share
But mostly I’m just missing you
Because you know I care.
